Building Belonging Through Art, Advocacy, and Community

Our CareSource Military & Veterans team understands that healing takes place within communities rather than existing alone. Our pride stems from supporting the War Alliance “Night of Gratitude” this spring in Atlanta which united veterans, artists, caregivers and advocates to share stories of resilience and humanity for one evening.

The War Alliance champions a community-focused method that combines creativity to aid individuals dealing with military trauma. The event showcased different art forms such as visual art and music along with spoken word performances to demonstrate how expression and connection aid in healing. We felt privileged to join an assorted team of partners and supporters who believe cultural responsiveness and lived experience should define accessible mental health care.

This event represented much more than a sponsorship opportunity for our team. The event allowed us to demonstrate meaningful presence through active listening and learning while supporting organizations that operate in practical settings. Events like these demonstrate our dedication to offering TRICARE Prime coverage under the Competitive Plans Demonstration (CPD) program by focusing on mental health services alongside peer support and trauma-informed care.

Every piece of art shared. Every story told. The handshakes and hugs we shared that evening illustrated the significance of our work. Building trust occurs when we focus on voices that traditional systems typically exclude. Building trust allows real healing to take place.

We express our gratitude to War Alliance for establishing that space and take pride in being their partner.
